The residents of the housing estate Tyrrelstown, north Dublin, marched on the Dáil this morning in protest of their treatment at the hand of ‘vulture funds’.
A new action group called the Tyrrelstown Tenants Action Group was set up last Friday. They represent the residents of Cruise Park housing estate. The march began at the Mansion House in the morning . It then headed for nearby Davy Stockbrokers before finishing up in a demonstration at Leinster House at midday.

There is due to be a discussion on housing in the Dáil today, where the residents’ case will be raised by Anti Austerity Alliance TD Ruth Coppinger. A delegation representing the residents will be present in the Dáil chambers for this discussion.

Around 40 tenants in the Cruise Park estate have been told their leases are being terminated, after loans attached to the properties were sold. These residents have said they have nowhere else to go, as there are no affordable properties in Dublin 15.
